Jimmy Allgood has been honored by the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development for an endowment gift that will fund leadership development efforts in rural communities throughout the state of Georgia.

The J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development is a unit of Public Service and Outreach at the University of Georgia that is "dedicated to strengthening communities, organizations, and individuals through leadership development, training, and education." Fanning Institute offers programs in four primary areas: community leadership development, nonprofit and professional association leadership development, youth leadership development and mediation and conflict resolution.

As board chair for the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Jimmy has been instrumental in guiding the strategic direction of the Fanning Institute. He has served as a member of the advisory board since its creation in 2014 and has served as advisory board chair since 2016.

"Chairman Allgood has given graciously of his time and resources to the advancement of the University of Georgia over many years," said UGA President Jere W. Morehead. "His family's generous gift will help the Fanning Institute continue to develop leaders throughout our state for generations to come."

As a Georgia based company with operations throughout the state, Cingo looks forward to the impact the Community Leadership Initiative will have in our communities throughout the state.

"Jimmy has always seen 'great leaders' as one of rural GA's untapped natural resources - it's one of the reasons he decided to headquarter our business in Dublin back in the 1970s," says Lanny Allgood, CEO of Cingo. "I'm proud to see him investing in future generations this way and look forward to witnessing the greatness that unfolds."

We are proud to recognize the impact Jimmy has as our founder, as a leader of the community, and as the head of the Allgood family.

In addition to his work as board chair of the Fanning Institute and his service as a member of the Georgia Port Authority board of directors, Jimmy was named one of Georgia Trend's list of the 2018 100 Most Influential Georgians.
